Compton scattering in Noncommutative Space-Time at the NLC
نویسنده
چکیده
We study the Compton scattering in the noncommutative counter part of QED (NC QED). Interactions in NC QED have momentum dependent phase factors and the gauge fields have Yang-Mills type couplings, this modifies the cross sections and are different from the commuting Standard Model. Collider signals of noncommutative space-time are studied at the Next Linear Collider (NLC) operating in the eγ mode. Results for different polarised cases are presented and it is shown that the Compton process can probe the noncommutative scale in the range of 1 2.5 TeV for typical proposed NLC energies.

Singlet scalar dark matter in noncommutative space
In this paper, we examine the singlet scalar dark matter annihilation to becoming the Standard Model particles in the non-commutative space. In the recent decades, many candidates of dark matter have been offered, but our information about the nature of dark matter is still limited. There are such particle candidates as scalar matetr, fermion, boson, gauge boson, etc.; however, they have nei...
متن کاملCompton Scattering at the NLC and Large Extra Dimensions ∗
We study Compton scattering, γ e → γ e, in the context of the recent proposal for Weak Scale Quantum Gravity (WSQG) with large extra dimensions. It is shown that, with an ultraviolet cutoff MS ∼ 1 TeV for the effective gravity theory, the cross section for this process at the Next Linear Collider (NLC) deviates from the prediction of the Standard Model significantly. Our results suggest that, f...

متن کاملStudy of the Compton scattering effect of soft tissue in PET imaging by Monte Carlo method
Introduction:In PET imaging, one or both of two annihilation photons may change the direction before reaching the detector due to Compton scattering interaction in body. .Methods:This article, a Monte Carlo simulation study, examined the effect of soft tissue on this error. In this work, the PET BiographTM 6 scanner, a simple geometry of soft tissue -including a sphere of soft tissue in center ...
متن کاملThermal-Photon and Residual-Gas Scattering in the NLC Beam Delivery
Without collisions, the largest contribution to the beam lifetime in LEP is Compton scattering off thermal photons. Even if only a few particles are scattered in a single pass, the potential background generated could make this effect important for the NLC as well. We used a modified version of the tracking program DIMAD, which includes a Monte Carlo simulation for the Compton scattering on the...
